Shoot for the Moon

The South African former president and anti-apartheid movement leader, Nelson Mandela, once said:

“ There is no passion to be found playing small—in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living.”

Sometimes we feel safe in the comfort zone that we created for ourselves, living in a good-enough illusion… thinking what we have is as good as it gets.

She married young, rushed in a marriage. She got herself a provider, a decent husband with a stable income. She loves him, but she is not in love with him. They have kids, the first of which was unplanned. The other five were also accidents.

Time bypass,

She lived by. She is utterly unhappy.

She shot too low.

She settled.

He abandoned her,, and his kids,,,

It took her countless years to realize that the end was near.

She lost track of time. Today is like tomorrow. Tomorrow is like yesterday.

“What did I do with my life?” She asks forlornly.

There has to be something more, something more than this “doll-house” nightmare.

15 years of slow-death pass by her eyes while she is passively watching.

At last, she decided to call it quits.

Put an end to a dead-end marriage.

We all have a tale to tell. We have things to do before we die.

Sometimes we think this is how life goes… this is what people do!

Many of us do the things we do to avoid the perceived unhappiness and fear of being alone.

But ask “why solve  problems that do not even exist!”

Because we create them.

We make craft our wretchedness.

We are the masters of our fate.

Our future must be put in good hands, and what better, more trusting hands than ours!

By lowering the bar for our ambitions we end up being discontented by what we have, unappreciative of so many blessings around us.

Settling for something that you do not want just because it feels easier is a tragic thing to do for yourself.

قال النبي – صلى الله عليه وسلم – : “إذا سألتم الله فسألوه الفردوس ، فإنه سر الجنة” .(صحيح)0

Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him said : (If you ask Allah for paradise , you have to ask Him of Al firdous, -that is the highest place and in the center of Paradise and from it the rivers came-)

You should know your worth, develop your individuality, aim high, and never settle for less than what you truly deserve.

Shoot for the moon… even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars …
